And boy oh boy, it's been a learning curve!
Join me on my journey as a beginner RV owner learning the ropes, one mile at a time! From my rookie mistakes to the tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way, this channel is all about sharing the ups, downs, and everything in between of RV life.
I'm adding a video tour of the day I brought Jolene (her new name) home. My excitement was palpable. I imagined all the places I would go and the memories to be made. Then, I started looking her over really well and began to envision her after I did painting and remodeling, to an extent.
Where would I go on my first journey? Woah, hold on. I had never (I mean never have I ever) driven something this big. She's 37.5 feet. My best friend also has a class A motorhome and I resigned that if she could do it, so could I. I was scared however. But, determined.
She and I took Jolene to a big parking lot and I was able to experience the power and feel of maneuvering this rig. I was scared, but she pushed me to do it. We took a little drive after the parking lot adventure and I began to feel just bit more at ease. Not gonna lie, I was clenched up, know what I mean? When we made it back home, I was relieved to have actually done it.
Don't misunderstand...I had not mastered the driving part by any means. In fact, I'm still learning about the dynamics of turns, backing up, maneuvers, and not being freaked out in traffic. I know that will come in time as I gain more knowledge and just plain ole experience behind the wheel.
I would love to hear your first experiences. Were you scared?
See ya 'round the campfire,
Angie

HEY, I’M ANGIE…
I'm a lover of travel and exploring this beautiful planet. I'm also frugal and love to thrift shop, so saving money is a really big deal to me. I became a travel advisor primarily because of the perks...taking advantage of travel advisor reduced rates and insider knowledge sharing with my host agency. However, I love sharing deals with clients as well.
I bought a class A motorhome in May of 2024. Y'all, I didn't even know if I could drive it, but I do! While it was a bit daunting in the beginning, I've learned to navigate the big rig (mostly).
I'll be sharing about travel adventures and my journey as a new RVer. come along with me on this journey!
